Kyle began playing with the WINNERS Lacrosse program in 8th grade. After falling in love with the sport, he continued to play by seeking out club teams, and is a rising senior at Marshall High School. He is also being recruiting by Hampton University.
Kyle recently reached out because he wanted to give back to the sport and coach our current players at our summer camps. Expressing his interest, he stated the following:
“Not only would I love to help the kids out with their skills and fundamentals, but I would also like to be a role model for them as well. The game of lacrosse (especially the WINNERS team) helped me become more of a leader and I am now the President of Jack and Jill of Americas Reston Chapter teens as well as the founder and President of Marshall High Schools Black Student Union. I would also reinforce the importance of putting school work first as I have earned a 3.8 GPA for the 11th grade while taking some Advanced and IB classes.
It would be my honor to impart my knowledge and my love for the game onto the kids participating in this program.”
Kyle is a great example to our players both on and off the field. He is also one of our many examples that you don't have to start playing lacrosse at five years-old to be good. If you work hard at it, just like anything else, you will succeed.
The WINNERS Lacrosse staff wishes Kyle the best in the future, we know there is much to be excited about!
We love to hear what our former participants are up to now. If you want to share your story with us, please email Program Director Lyndsey Munoz at email@example.com.
